Everyone has a why

Fundraising. It’s hard to do. You’re relying on the generosity, ability and willingness of others to achieve a goal; Raise money to donate to research. To get others on board, sometimes you have to tap into their “why”. Why do you want them to part with $20, or $100 of their hard earned dollars? What makes it valuable to them? Who cares about research?!

Sometimes, sharing YOUR “why” can help. Here it is:
1) I’ve signed up for this challenge because of the people that NEED more research to help them, their loved ones, or their colleagues;
2) I want to raise awareness that heart health matters, especially when you’re healthy and well. Heart disease can be sneaky like that. What better way to do that than by moving regularly to stay well;
3) Women, especially, are worthy of investment to help them live their best, fullest lives.

But, without this generosity, there is just not enough support for researchers to do the much-needed work. As a researcher myself, I am committed to changing the lives of others, although maybe not directly, through the work I do. I study how women’s hearts adapt and respond to exercise. This is what I do, who I am, and this is my why. Join me on this journey.

I’m taking on Cycle for Heart

I’m jumping on the bike this month and setting myself a challenge to raise money for the Heart Foundation. If you can, I’d really appreciate your support. Every bit helps.
