Update: lost keys = no excuses

I posted a personal challenge on 16th July to try to overcome my excuses for car use.
Coincidentally, or perhaps not, I lost my car keys almost immediately after that.
As such, I have not driven my car at all for the past 15 days, even though there have been times where I would have liked to!
How long will this misery continue?
Just kidding, I am having a good and challenging time and feel amazing. It's so much easier not having the mental gymnastics to justify car use and just accepting this is how it is. 😊 It
I've picked up kids, post office packages, bags of chook food, groceries, a whole bike full of bike tools and parts, and done the school run once or twice a day.
Will my keys show up one day? Or is this my life now?

My heart, lungs, brain and kids do not benefit from my excuses.

Like most people, I find it easy to come up with excuses not to ride... and end up taking the car instead.

Here are a few of my most common...

  1. I need to get packages from the post office and they might be heavy.
  2. I need to get lots of groceries.
  3. I'm picking up an extra kid or two.
  4. I'm tired / late / feeling lazy

I can pretty much always find an excuse if I want one.

For the next month I've decided no more excuses.

My heart, lungs, brain and kids do not benefit from my excuses. So I'm going to do my best to put them to bed.

I am going to ride my bike for AT LEAST one trip EVERY day.

Who will join me?

For accountability I'm going to try to track each trip on Strava, you can follow me and join the Ride Revolution Project bike club here...
