This September, we'll be trekking the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal in loving memory of Wayne Kuskie, a much-loved husband, dad, father-in-law, brother, best mate and adventurer.

This trek held a special place in Wayne's heart. He completed the Annapurna Circuit himself and often spoke about the people, the mountains and the unforgettable experience. If you knew Wayne, you'll know he was always up for an adventure, loved the outdoors, and had a way of bringing people together. Walking the same trail is our way of feeling close to him again and honouring a journey that meant so much to him.

Making this journey even more special, we'll be trekking alongside Wayne's best mate, Andy, who completed the Annapurna Circuit with him. Together, we'll be retracing the very path they once shared, guided by the same local team and supported by many of the same incredible porters Wayne met on his adventure. Knowing we're walking in his footsteps, with people who also knew him, makes this experience incredibly meaningful to us.

Over two weeks, we'll hike more than 160 kilometres through the Himalayas, reaching Thorong La Pass at 5,416 metres. It will be one of the biggest physical and mental challenges we've ever taken on, but every step has a purpose.

Losing Wayne reminded us just how precious time with the people we love really is. This trek is our way of carrying his memory with us through every climb, every challenge and every milestone, while raising funds for the Heart Foundation in the hope that more families get to spend longer with the people they love.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing our training, the highs and lows of preparing for this adventure, and our journey through Nepal.
