Last year, one of our team members lost their father to an unexpected heart attack.

It was a moment that hit all of us hard.

Since committing to compete in the Ironman Cairns, sadly another member of our team has also experienced the same loss.

Two families. The same cause. Too soon.

That’s why this race has taken on a much deeper meaning.

On June 14th, I’ll be taking on Ironman Cairns in support of the Heart Foundation, raising funds in memory of both of their fathers and to support the ongoing fight against heart disease.

For context, an Ironman is:

  • Swim: 3.8km in open water
  • Cycle: 180km
  • Run: 42.2km (a full marathon)
