Help Save Australian Hearts—Join Us in Creating Change
I am deeply passionate about saving Australian hearts and need your help to make a difference. Your generous donations will fund lifesaving heart research, preventing more families from experiencing the devastating loss of a loved one to heart disease.
For those who may not know, I was married to Deva Anantharaj for seven years, eagerly anticipating the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Tiara, in just four weeks. But on the 19th of June 2011, our world was shattered. At only 32 years old, Deva went out for a night of salsa dancing with friends when he suddenly collapsed. We lost him to a massive heart attack.
Not only did I lose my loving husband, but our daughter Tiara never had the chance to meet her adoring father. Deva had been counting down the days until he could hold his princess, yet fate cruelly denied him that moment. His loss affected countless lives.
Fourteen years have passed, yet the memories we shared remain vivid and cherished. Time may move forward, but our love and remembrance of Deva remain unchanged.
With the unwavering support of my soulmate, best friend, and wonderful partner, Selva Kathiresan, we decided—on what would have been Deva’s 39th birthday—to organise an annual memorial walk in his honor. Every dollar raised goes toward increasing awareness of heart disease and supporting vital research into heart health.
This year, we will walk 13 kilometers on Sunday, June 22, just after Deva’s 14th anniversary.
We invite our dear family, friends, and colleagues to show their support by joining us in the walk, donating, and helping us raise funds. You are not required to complete the full 13 kilometers; each loop is 3.28 kilometers, and you can choose how many rounds to walk.
Your presence, contribution, and support mean everything to us. We look forward to seeing you there.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
