MEET DAWNIE... The woman completing an epic duathlon for a dual cause.
Covering 20,000km in 200 days in hopes to raise 2 million dollars. Crossing every state and territory in Australia. Raising awareness for heart health and the remote medical support across the country. Running, riding, and then running some more, doing serious research into the impacts on the human body from extreme physical activity. Attempting to complete a duathlon in every state and territory within Australia in consecutive days.
Departed Adelaide bound West on 25.02.2025.
Funds raised will support the Heart Foundation and The Royal Flying Doctor Service, with all funds being divided evenly. Here are some examples of how your funds will support both organizations:
Heart Foundation:
$50 could pay for nutrient solution needed by researchers to help grow heart cells.
$100 could pay for a DNA test to help pinpoint genetic factors for heart disease.
$200 could pay for essential lab tools and equipment for cardiovascular researchers.
Royal Flying Doctor Service:
$30 can help purchase essential pieces of kit like stethoscopes and thermometers.
$50 can help provide a trauma pack that carries life-saving equipment.
$100 can help towards the purchase of a state-of-the-art defibrillator.
