Fundraising Tips

1.Set yourself a fundraising goal:

Set yourself aambitious but achievable fundraising goal. This will help your supporters know what you are trying to accomplish and inspire them to help you achieve it!

2. Kick start your fundraising:

Consider making the first donation or ask your closet friends and family to donate before sending your page around. People tend to match the donations that are already on your page, so the more generous the better.

3. Spread the word

Don’t be afraid to reach out to those around you – friends, family, colleagues, even your local community groups. The more people who know about your fundraiser, the more donations you are likely to receive. Use these simple pre-written emails to ask for donations, as a gentle reminder of your fundraiser or to thank people for helping you get one step closer to your goal.

4. Get Social

Update your Facebook profile picture or post to Instagram using one of our social pics to tell everyone about your fundraiser.  Share with your network what you are doing, what you’re hoping to achieve and why supporting the Heart Foundation is important to you. It can be as easy as adding a link to your email signature

5. Double your impact and ask your employer to donate

Find out if your employer would consider matching your fundraising. It’s a great way to increase your fundraising and all donations over $2 are tax deductible. Download our dollar matching letter here. Even if your employer doesn’t dollar match you may inspire them to give you a personal donation!
