Joondalup Half Marathon

So yesterday I completed my second ever half marathon and managed to do it 9 minutes faster than my first one completing my first sub-2 hour half marathon time! woohoo.. sooo happy with it :) It was a good run too, nice and flat and it probably helped that I relgularly run the lake at Joondalup but it is only 17ks so I knew there would be a bit added somewhere, albeit a bit of an incline at one point but the majority was flat.  I almost didn't even make it to the start line however as I got smashed in the leg by someone flinging open their car door on my way down! I was in absolute agony but didn't have time to stop and think just had to go, get my bib then queue to do the mandatory last minute pee before the race...literally last minute as I was still in the portaloo when the 10 second countdown came on so I literally ran from the toilet down to the start line and began! Hardly strecthed or got myself together just went straight into it! So yeah, very pleased with how it turned out in the end, apart from the gigantic bruises all up my leg from the car incident :/
But happy I got myself a proper medal yay!
7ks left to do on the last day! ....

5k jog

Just a little 5k jog tonight to get some ks in ahead of my half marathon on Sunday! Eeek

7k sunset run!

Just went out for a little run after my day of sleep (post / pre
- night shift!) was lovely actually, sun was setting, music was good, I felt good. Pushed a bit further than I planned and managed 7ks. Woop 🙌🏻

10k Tready run

Today I decided to stay indoors and run 10ks on my treadmill as the rain was on and off and it was really windy (v hard to run against the wind) I managed it but my Nike app says I only did 9ks as its not quite as accurate indoors. I promise I did 10! I screen shotted the treadmill just to be sure ☺️

17ks around Lake Joondalup!

Did the full 17k lap of the lake today! Wasn’t sure if I’d manage it all so I just ‘jogged’ at a comfortable pace with a couple of waters stops and I managed it quite nicely. Yay 🙌🏻

5k run with the pooch!

Thought I’d take my little girl with me this morning for a jog!  She struggled a bit after 3ks so we had a few toilet / sniff stops 🤣 but overall we managed it in 38mins, not too bad!!

8ks in the rain!

Someone asked me yesterday if I run in the rain, I said not if I can avoid it. Well today, I could not avoid it! Started off dry and sunny. Ended up ABSOLUTELY DRENCHED!!! But…I kinda enjoyed it 🤣 haha. Another 8ks done ✅ 🙌🏻

12K Lake Joondalup run

Today I ran at lake Joondalup! Was planning on doing my usual route all the way around the lake (17ks) however I knew a few k's in that my legs wouldn't take me that far! ...prob still a bit heavy from the Freo race on Sunday! So decided to just run 6ks out and then 6ks back! Better than nothing :)

10K Fremantle Ports Harbour run!

So today I competed the 10k Fremantle Ports Harbour run! Was a nice fast flat run which made me go probably a bit too fast as I felt like I was going to throw up at 7ks so had to take a breather and slow it down a touch! But still managed a PB so super chuffed! 😃👌🏻only 93ks to go! … 😳

First run of the challenge!

So today I completed my first run of the month and went straight in hard undertaking the Perth 32km race!
I didn’t know if I could do it but I did and all running too no stopping, only for the mandatory water stations!!
Think I’ve earned a couple of rest days before my next run! #inpain🥴 #feelingproudofmyself

Anna’s 100 mile (160k) 🏃‍♀️ May challenge for the ♥️

Hello, I’m Anna and have been running here and there for a while now just to keep fit and because i love it, BUT I have decided to go one step further and do my first ever fundraising event for the Australian Heart Foundation by attempting to undertake one of the Australian Virtual Running Events - the 100 mile Madjedbebe challenge!

As some of you will know, this is a cause close to my heart (pardon the pun). 25,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen each year in Australia with only a 5% survival rate. Knowing basic CPR and the use of an AED can save someone’s life.
Now working in Cardiology, I see the effects that Australia’s No.1 killer of heart disease has and I couldn’t think of a better charity to raise much needed funds for.

I will need all the support I can get to complete this challenge so whatever you can donate, big or small, will be greatly appreciated by me and this amazing charity whose 80% of funding comes from donations. Thank you!

Thank you to my Sponsors
