I’ve taken on the Iron Heart Challenge to improve my own heart health, honour those I’ve lost, and help create a healthier future for others.

Heart disease has affected my family for generations. I have lost my grandfather and great aunt to heart disease, and their experiences have reminded me just how important heart health is.

In 2023, I began my triathlon journey as a way to take control of my own health. I completed my first sprint-distance triathlon, followed by 70.3 Melbourne in 2024. Along the way, I faced several setbacks, including diagnoses of high blood pressure and sleep apnoea, and later emergency gallbladder surgery just before Christmas 2025.

Those challenges reinforced an important lesson: good heart health isn’t something we can take for granted.

My goal is simple. I want to improve my heart health so I can live a long, healthy, and happy life with my family. At the same time, I want to encourage others to take positive steps towards improving theirs.

That’s why I’m fundraising for the Heart Foundation Australia.

As part of the Iron Heart Challenge, I will complete a solo 70.3 triathlon around New Year’s Day 2027 and a solo Iron-distance triathlon on 8 May 2027, just after my 30th birthday.

My fundraising goal is $5,000, with every dollar going directly to support the Heart Foundation’s work to:

• Fund life-changing heart research

• Support health professionals working to prevent, diagnose and treat heart disease

• Provide heart-health education, programs and resources for Australians

Heart disease remains Australia’s leading cause of death, claiming 48 lives every day. Together, we can help change that.

If you’re able to support my journey, please consider making a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps make a difference.

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible, and you’ll receive a receipt via email.

Thank you for your support and for helping me turn the Iron Heart Challenge into something that creates a positive impact beyond the finish line.
