2nd target: $3000 by end of March

3rd target: $5000 by Trek Time (May).

To Honour My Dad, Colin Page.

I had a birthday earlier this week, and it always makes me think of my dad, who died of an unexpected heart attack at age 44 - I was 11 at the time. I've now outlived him by 12 years. After his death, as a teenager, I regularly raised money for the Heart Foundation by taking part in the annual Cyclothon, riding laps around the city parklands.

The sad part is that my dad's death could possibly have been avoided if he'd been more aware of the effects of smoking and stress on his heart health. The good work of the Heart Foundation continues to research, educate and inform in this lifestlye/wellbeing space and that's why I'm supporting them with my trek next May.

As a lifelong cyclist, I've done a lot of cycling-related fundraising over the years - mostly for various cancer-related charities. So this year I'm mixing it up a bit and changing the charity and the mode of fundraising. I will be hiking for a week in the Flinders Ranges next year in May and have committed to raising $5000 in donations in order  to take part.

I hope you can support me and the Heart Foundation - no donation too small (or large)! Cheers, Clayton.
